Discipline, To train oneself to do something in a controlled and habitual way.
Disciplina, Instruction, knowledge.
A few people in the Studio recently have really shown what it is to be Disciplined. Their daily practice is and inspiration to us all. It shows us that there are no short cuts just dedication in what we do that leads to an outcome of our choice. One of these people have worked for months on injury's using yoga as the healing process, taking the movement back to its basics for best effect. I was no longer working, in severe pain constantly and requiring morphine. 4 stone in weight piled on and the situation was very difficult. Spinal surgery followed ( unfortunately, not totally successfully) and just for good measure a debilitating and painful muscle condition ( fibromyalgia) thought it would add to the misery. My first hot yoga class at BreatheHq was so tough. We had a lovely conversation with a Pilates client last night who has managed to use Pilates at Breathe Health and Fitness to work away from back pain. She has been coming regulary every Tuesday night at 7.30pm and found that the session has taken her from being constantly in pain to now pain free. This type of feed back for the Studio reinforces the reason why we do what we do and why we are always happy to help. Thank you for the feedback and thank you for taking responsibility for your pain and working away from it with Pilates thus avoiding the need for surgery. Your discipline and hard work is a perfect example of how to over come the obstacles that are thrown our way.
